Since 2010, the Su Refugio Rescue Program has been named the gold standard for children's homes by the Paraguayan government. In the City of Tobati, Su Refugio has a Children’s Home, where they rescue and rehabilitate girls from child trafficking and abuse.
The Rescue Program also works directly with the people of Tobati to create community engagement and support children and women through music lessons, craftmanship, and finance lessons. The main source of income in Tobati is the production of bricks. At a young age, children start working at these "olerias" workshops, sometimes dropping out of school. To avoid this, the Su Refugio Rescue Program provides support to the families.
With your help, we would like to provide a bike for the children and women of Tobati to use for transportation to school, work, and classes. Not only does a bike help them with transportation, a bike can help them feel a sense of self-worth just knowing that somebody cares about them and their future!
